If you are connected with the development you should push for the City to do something about the crime in the HUD projects next to the building.

The resent street murder will hurt your sales.

What, you work for the realtor? It's one drawing....

I'd be VERY leary about buying near the projects. I haven't seen anything discounted enough to make it worth the risk. Now, I'm just talking from an investment and re-sale perspective. The whole, the haves and the have nots and what to do about the disparity of wealth, well that is not a discussion to be had on a real estate board.

I think there are way too many new projects with comparable prices in safer areas that would be a smarter investment. Unless the price is way below those nearby (say Upper Grand, 700 Grove, etc.) and have more amenities, I would stick with something that doesn't have an unknown component. In my humble opinion, when buying re-sale, your going to look at alot of factors and one of them is going to be the location.....

Just my $.02

Doesn't anyone buy anything to live in nowadays? All anyone seems concerned with is resale. I guess that's all it is with condos though.

That said, #6 does make a point - even if you want to live the place, do you really want to live near the projects? With all the inventory coming on the market and people who will be selling their condos when they can do so w/out tax problems within the next year or two, you're never going to be able to compete with a condo that's located in a safer area.

safe is relative and I dare say myopic at best.

Sharp building? LOL. It doesn't look great to me and the location is bad.

You pumpers are so transparent. You just can't stand the fact that people are migrating towards new construction in a different part of town. Why? Better construction, better pricing, and potentially much better value. Stop trying to redirect the trend with hints of class warfare. And better yet, try getting a real job.
