Review - Best japanese place in the area, hands down. The food rocks, the atmosphere rocks, the service is ok - but I think it's because the place is PACKED.

Review - Kudos to the Sushi Lounge. Have always had GREAT sushi there. Have been a steady customer for over 3 years. They never let down and always stay fresh and new. Love the new menu.

Review - This is a nice place to hang out ... but not to have Sushi! The thumping music with the in-house DJ makes one feel like a clubber sitting down in the lounge to eat some food. Definitely not an appropriate atmosphere for Sushi. But then again, maybe it's just me, as I prefer a Zen-like surrounding with Sushi. The Sushi itself was mediocre with tiny pieces of average quality fish and a slightly pricy menu. The bar is well stocked though, so go there for drinks and sake; just stay away from the fish.

Review - Ordered Sashimi for 2 - it's a huge plate with generous cuts of fresh fish, though the selection was not the most exciting. Nontheless, it was a satisfying meal. The ambience was soso, music choice can be bad on a busy night, very loud. I felt the need to escape to a nice quiet cafe afterwards.

Review - Great restaurant. Formula, 1) Food can't be beat, 2) Atmosphere can't be beat, 3) service can be beat, but good. I eat here 3 times a week and I have never been disappointed. The best in the area (including NYC) by far!!!!

Review - Overall, the Sushis Lounge is a great restaurant. It's a nice change from the quiet sushi bars that occupy most Japanese restaurants. The music is excellent and the location is perfect (on Hudson St instead of overcrowded Washington Ave). The only downside of the night was finding a parking space.

Review - Just waited 45 minutes for a table, but it was absolutely worth the wait. Fish was unbelievably fresh and dj was excellent. I will return soon! Servers and crowd were very good looking!

Review - I went to Sushi Lounge with very high expectations after hearing so many good things. They did not disappoint us. The food was as good as any NY restaurant and the ambiance was NYC without the attitude. Our server was extremely attentive and made 2 great recommendations (Scallopini Roll & Hoboken Roll). They've certainly earned their reputation as one of the best restaurants in the area.

Review - I will cut to the chase, the menu, while it has many choices they are largely reasonably playful versions of standard items... very standard items of very average quality. I had the misfortune of choosing to sit at the sushi bar. It should be noted that in Japan the sushi bar is a place of honor as your order is placed with the chef, not a server and the preparation is right before your eyes. To see a fine chef at work is indeed an honor, to sit at the bar of Sushi Lounge is a mistake. The fish is precut!!!! the chef just takes the slices from a dish cut ??? hours ago??? no raw fish can maintain the glistening succulent form it takes from a fresh cut. This is why the fish on hold is traditionally in thick blocks, not sliced into final thin sushi or sashimi dimensions. The fish while acceptable, did not inspire... there are many places that do. Of the four things I requested only one was available, I gave up and ordered chirashi. The sake list is very poorly considered and no box sake service at all, only a standard wine glass. Contrary to Robert Parkers suggestion that sake be served in a wine glass (this is fine of course) I really like it served chilled in a traditional cedar box, the flavor and aroma it imparts to fine sake is unforgettable. The hostess and server were simply gems and their hospitality will be long remembered.

Review - This place has become one of my favorites! The sushi is great, the service is usually good, and the decor is interesting. We go nearly every weekend, and have not had a bad experience yet - and hope we never will. I love their spicy scallop roll and their toro roll. Try them - they're so good.

Review - I used to be a big fan of Sushi Lounge, but am disappointed as how it's gradually declining over the last year. It used to be a haven for the local well-heeled. It has turned into a raucious sports bar with some of the newer patrons bringing, of all things, their small children to the bar area! The outdoor dining is still okay, for the yelling from the bar or the headache-inducing music can't be heard there.

The waitstaff and the martini specials are the only reason to go here, for the sushi is average, and, as mentioned above, the bar atmosphere is no longer pleasant.

Review - After eating at the Sushi Lounge many times during the past few years, for the most part I was satisfied with the food and decor. The grade of sushi is comparable to that of any other sushi restaurant in Hoboken, and the atmosphere is trendy and original, although the opposite of tranquil and serene. What the restaurant lacks in is value. The food is by no means worth the substantial premium they charge. After ordering 3 special rolls for takeout, the amount of food I received for $40 was comical. It seems as if the portions have decreased substantially since the last time I ate food from The Sushi Lounge. The special rolls there are between $10 and $14 and are not larger and possibly smaller than the regular rolls at any other sushi restaurant in Hoboken.

Review - The overpriced sushi doesnt compare to Robongai or Ubu. The decor is nice though and it's probably a good choice for drinks.

Review - Although I have been a patron of the Sushi Lounge for awhile, I must say that going there is definitely a gamble. The food is good and the menu has many option. The decor is chic anf fun, however the service is unreliable.

I have had amazing waitstaff who take their time and help answer questions. One waitress even brought out a sauce for me to try when I was uncertain about ordering a dish. I have also experienced the most rude, mean, and annoying waitstaff.

Once I complained to management about my waitress' behavior (she really spoke down to me!) and the manager defended the waitress.

Be careful at the Sushi Lounge...unless you like being spoken down to.
