Review - Decent place, but pretty plain with little character. Utilities are very cheap (average about $120) and you get the most bang for your buck in hoboken. Left the place in ok shape and got the full deposit back, but you have to pay 180 to have it cleaned. Convenient location, but a bit removed from the action...if you can be in Hoboken. would recommend this place if your are price concious.

Review - I have lived for for 3 years and the only reason i am still there is bacause the rent was reasonable. New management has bought the bldg however and of course has raised the rent to a point where it is no longer worth it because there is no customer service whatsoever. Plus, the bldg was built so poorly that you freeze to death in the winter and sweat in the summer, unless you keep your thermostat at comfortable temps, but be prepared for hefty utility bills. Wind actually blows through the closed windows and the super's only response was to put up plastic sheeting. the interior needs a makeover (halls and lobby) but the apts themselves are nice and airy.

Review - Upon moving into the Metropolitan, my roomate and I were given a two hour window in which we were allowed to take all our items from the truck and move them into the apartment. The move took longer than 2 hours, and we were charged cash, by the superintendent, at the end of the two hours because he had to be paid overtime, even though he was nowhere to be seen during the entire process. During the move-out, we cleaned out the entire apartment of our stuff and then hired a cleaning service to finish everything left. The apartment looked better than I've ever seen it when we did the walk-thru. We were told upon leaving that everything was in good condition and we left, expecting our full security back in the mail within a few weeks. Two days later I receive a call at work saying that the cleaning service didn't do a good job and we should call them back. This is after I got a receipt from the management saying the apartment was in good condition when we left it (I say it looked better than when we got it). Then I was told that the super had a different sheet, a seperate sheet that said that everything was dirty and he had to hire a cleaning service. I never saw the sheet, nor was ever told about it. They said they were going to take out the money from the security to shampoo the carpets and buff the floors, even though they were immaculate when we left them. The management does not know how to treat their tenants and for that matter, how to hold on to good tenants. The apartment itself was very nice, and for the money the amenities were great. If it wasn't for the management, however, I would still be there. Oh, and by the way, I'm still waiting for my security deposit.
