Review - Comparing all the Jersey city supermarkets, this one is definitely the best, although it's only practical to shop here if you have a car or if you live in the Newport area. They have a wide selection and employees at least pretend to be friendly. At first glance, prices appear to be more expensive, but this is solved by getting one of those scannable discount cards that you can leave attached to your key chain. Prices will be comparable or cheaper than other places. Prices will sometimes even be discounted even though they aren't marked as such on the shelves. Lines are always reasonable length, although Sunday afternoons can get a bit crowded.
C-town on Jersey Ave: my second favorite, but selection is limited.
Shop rite near Newport: I don't care attitude of employees would be bearable if they checkouts weren't so freakin slow.
Pathmark on Grand: If you must shop here, bring a bullet-proof vest.
