Review - Hamilton Park Pizza Cafe is a solid local pizza place with a good assortment of menu items -- you can even get breakfast in the morning.
Pizza is tasty, thin NY style; their recipe is superior to most of the neighborhood's offerings. Though the slices are a little smaller than one might expect (add a slice to your usual consumption amount), the product is definitely good and the pricing is exceptionally reasonable.
My personal favorite are their calzones -- offered in both normal and ridiculously large sizes -- crust is consitent, fillings are enough to feel good about but not so much that they overflow into your lap, and you can also get just about any pizza topping put into one. Be warned - the large calzone is enough for 2 people with big appetites (there is no way you'll finish one by yourself -- it's a little over 2 feet long).
Deliver to the local area is always quick (half the time I'm not ready for them because they got here ahead of expectations) and their delivery guy went the extra mile to get me when my building's intercom system had malfunctioned.
The only drawback I see is if you're looking for a sit-down dining experience (this is a local pizza joint -- they have tables, but again....it's a local pizza joint--you're not proposing to your girlfriend there), then this isn't the place for you. It's average for this type of restaurant.
These guys, by the way, will deliver to Newport...perhaps some of you Newport restaurants will stand up and take notice of the rest of the neighborhood that isn't on the waterfront and return the favor.
