Review - I've been going here since the first week they opened. I told my wife they wouldn't last a year. Kudos to them for proving me wrong. However, they went from one extreme to another. I sort of wish they kept the original concept. They went from a tapas bar with a good selection of wine and beer to an overpriced restaurant with attitude. Well, the attitude was always present to an extent. They now have a NYC chef and NYC prices. While the food is good - some say the best in JC, but that ain't saying much - for the prices they charge, you might as well get something a whole lot more innovative and creative in NY.
The best of the appetizers is the goat cheese salad. Very fresh with a nice balsamic dressing But $12? Gimme a break! The meats and cheeses appetizer was rather bland and again, way too expensive. The calamari was excellent once, and at another time it was overcooked.
The best entrees are the rabbit and duck with ravioli. A plus is that you can order a small size version of some of the entrees which gives you more room to experiment. But what's the story with the macaroni & cheese? I have to think the macaroni & cheese was put on the menu for the kiddies. It's good, but really, how good can you make macaroni and cheese?
Service is completely dependent on which server you get. No names, but two of them are absolutely abysmal. They take your order and it's adios until dessert time. I've had to go the bar more than once to get a wine refill.
With bottle of wine, be prepared to spend at least $100 (with tax and tip) for 2. Not worth it, but unfortunately, there aren't many choices in this town.

Review - Great selection of wine and beer. Nice menu (smaller portion option available). Cool and Euro. Cons: Tight space and Manhattan prices.

Review - This place is WONDERFUL. Everything I have ever tried from the menu was/is simply fabulous. I recommend you try what they said was the chef's signature dish, the Mac and Cheese. The name does it no justice, its unlike anything I have ever had before. The atmostphere is cozy, and quaint. THe service however, lacked most times I have been there. The host was great, the servers need to be more attentive.
Review - Very nice decor. They need more options to their menu. Once you've gone a couple of times, your choices are limited. I agree, great fries. But the food is way too overpriced.

Review - Yes it is WAY OVER PRICED!!! But... they have the BEST french fries with garlic aoili. After a few dinner bills that left me wondering why I hadn't eaten in the Village, I have resigned myself to never order more than drinks, fries, and olives. The atmosphere is *Smoke Free*, funky, and almost too hip, but hey, we're talkin about JC here! Where else ya gonna go?!

Review - An excellent dining experience. Wonderful wine selection and amazing food. Prices are average. Well worth it. Higher prices higher quality!!! One of my new favorite places. The decor reminds of a cafe I was at in Germany. The service was just right. I just might have to become a regular.

Review - Ok - Just need to add, since the new menu has been in place. Things have gotten even more overpriced and for less food. Whats up with the fries-- now you only get half the amount for the same price. And to get the old size you have to pay 2 or 3 dollars more. I agree, they are getting too big for their britches. And this is coming from the person who gave them a favorable review earlier. I still like the food/atmosphere, but TOO OVERPRICED.

Review - This place started out well, but has gotten too big for it's britches as some places do. My first attempt, I loved it. Love the Birthday Book. Second attempt, very disappointed in the fair food and terrible service but decided it must have been an off - night. Third attempt - FINAL. Never again. Food is average, UNBELIEVABLY OVERPRICED (this ain't Manhattan folks no matter how much we love JC) and the service is terrible.
