Review - If you like a thin crust brick oven pizza topped with quality ingredients, then this is the place for you. This is some of the best pizza I've tasted in years. Is it expensive? Yes, at $3 a slice for the plain jane type and higher when adding other toppings you'll be spending alot more here than most places. However, as the old adage goes, you get what you pay for. If you yearn for better than the usual stuff you'll be pleasently surprised. The store can get quite crowded at lunch time. With five or so customers, the place is cheek to jowl. There is no indoor seating, so in winter trying to enjoy a slice without taking it out can be a real exercise in acrobatics in the small space. Try an early or late lunch there in winter to avoid this. Breads are superb and there is an assortment of take out pastas for sale as well. This is a welcome addition to the burgeoning Paulus Hook food scene.

Review - Although tough to admit, this is probably some of the best pizza you'll find in JC, and the tossers know it. It is expensive (a large pie and buffalo wings cost me exactly $22) and service is gruff, but the ingredients aren't trucked in by a Lisanti distributor - they're made on-site. The crust, which many consider to be a pizza's backbone, has that wonderful charred brick oven aftertaste and isn't paper thin or overchewy. Crushed Marzano tomatos and little else make for the sauce, and fresh moz & basil rounds out their plain pie - a pizza margherita. This is a delightful break from the oily, rubbery-cheese slices served en masse. Highly recommended, attitude adjustment aside.

Review - For Jersey City this is place has no comparison and is worth a few extra $. They serve a proper pizza not to be compared with local slices (grub food) or mass market slop (Dominos, Pizza Hut, etc) . Plenty of toppings, sandwiches are decent too, ravioli's very tastey but they don't offer bread or extra's. NOTE: Phone service is basic, gruff, hurried. If you are getting this delivered avoid getting bell peppers (painful i know) since they by nature leak water once cooked and can make the pie soggy. This goes with any pizza! Otherwise their pies rule, downtown there's no comparison.

Review - Overpriced, but good. Pizza shouldn't be this expensive... That being said, it can be excellent. It's a small place, so don't expect to eat in! Best bet - make some food at home, and buy the consistently excellent breads. At a buck or two, you can get some really great baguettes or batards!

Review - This pizza is really what I consider the best not only in Jersey City, but the BEST I have ever had in the US. I have the luxury of living close by so taking out is not a problem for me. Also I find everyone to be very friendly and helpful when I call or stop in to pick up one of their FABULOUS batards or baguettes! As for the price, you get what you pay for, don't listen to the negative reviews, this place is the REAL DEAL!

Review - My food rating is a little misleading. The explanation is this: The quality and taste of the food is very good. Pay particular attention to the fresh mozzerella and Italian sausage on their pizza, and generally speaking the quality of their ingredients is at least slightly better than most others. And yes, they have a brick oven in there to bake their foods. But their pizzas are VERY expensive for their size; a large pizza starts at $15 (for plain; toppings are $1 apiece) but their large is smaller than every other pizzeria in the surrounding area. (Consider their large to be everyone else's medium.) Decor is a problem; their shop is very small and has NO interior seating, but they do have a small handful of outdoor tables on the sidewalk. This makes cold-weather dining a total take-home or delivery experience. They also seem to have some odd closing days; I walk past the shop almost every day and sometimes find them to be closed in the middle of the day, or closed for several days at a time (not around any holidays). The few times that I've eaten there I've found the people there to be personable if not exactly friendly, although I have seen them interact with other people in a very familiar/friendly manner which leads me to believe that they're more friendly with their regular customers.

Review - Why are all New Jersey pizzas WET? Raised on New Haven Frank Pepe's amazing pizzas, I know it can be better than this. Cannot even taste the crust, too slimy. Other ingredients really good. But it isn't supposed to be WET. Jeeez.
Margherita Pizza swimming in WET. Tried Meat Lovers, hoping there was somthing good I was missing. Nope. WET.
Yikes.

Review - Excellent pizza that you pay through the nose for. It's worthy of being compared to Patsy Grimaldi's in Brooklyn.
